So the British summer has been and gone in a blink of an eye, the kiddies have gone back to school, the fruit is now just apples with pumpkins growing well, and there's the great British debate of whether or not to put your heating on. Here at Beautifully Gifted, we are very stubborn and so are braving the chill. Typical British weather means today we had a mini heatwave so were are glad we braved it.
So lots of news coming up with the changing season including the introduction of Beautifully Gifted's very first employee (contract and everything!)…so let's not waste any time in introducing Gemma! Please imagine the fanfare… The shop opened just over 6 months ago and in that time it's been taking leaps and bounds with it becoming more and more popular which we can only thank you; the customers for! As always without you, this wouldn't be possibly. With the original team still having to carry on with their own jobs and the demand to be open on Tuesdays we took the big step in looking for the right candidate. Your response was huge bearing in mind we only posted on Facebook and a little poster in the window of the shop and we were inundated with CVs which left us with the task of narrowing down you talented bunch. At last we did it, got it down to four candidates for interview and we loved meeting every single one of you. It was one of the most difficult decisions as you all had skills to bring to the job but we decided upon Gemma. A talented local mum, whose children are now all at school so the time had come to find a part time job to enjoy some me time. With a love for gifts and interior design she jumped at the idea and we are so pleased she did. With her customer service skills, technology knowledge and unflappableness (is that a word)?? we thought she was perfect? So please do come say hi to her during the week and welcome her with the warm welcome you gave to the rest of the team.
With all the hustle and bustle of everyday life, kids back at school, and so many jobs to do it's so easy to forget others at this time. With the business of life and not enough hours in the day many are often forgotten in the midst of it all, especially the elderly and those who live on their own. Which brings us to the special event happening next week, here at Beautifully Gifted. Our customers know we are big fans of cards and we want to help us by sending a card to deliver a smile in conjunction with Thinking of You Week. Now in its fourth year, Thinking of You Week (25 Sept – 1 Oct 2017) inspires people to create a wave of love, caring and happiness by sending greeting cards to different people during the week. Sending cards generates positive feelings and wellbeing. Science has shown that receiving a handwritten card is far more personal, creates a lovely warm positive boost and makes people feel far more special than receiving texts, emails or social media messages. So we are asking you to help us to create the happiness wave by purchasing cards to send to strangers or loved ones. To help you we will be running a buy three cards get one free offer at the shop.
More importantly we will also be asking all of our customers to take five minutes to pen a few words in a card which we will provide free of charge. We will then take all pf the cards and deliver them to local care homes to brighten the residents day. With a few handwritten words you could make a strangers day!
As you may have guessed our feature of the month for September is going to be cards! Here at Beautifully Gifted we take pride and joy in bringing you a hand selected range of cards from all over the country and supplied by award winning brands including Blue Eyed Sun, Louise Tiller, Megan Claire, Pigment, Sally Swannel, Cinnamon Aitch, Mollie Mae and Art File. We are sure in our shop you can find a card for every occasion and if not we can get. You can't go wrong with a handwritten, meaningful note in a beautiful card. So be sure to check out the website and have a look in store to find that perfect one.
We hope to see a lot of you next week for our Thinking of You event and be sure to tag us on social media using @beautifullygifteduk and the #sendacarddeliverasmile , we want to see what you've written! In the meantime we hope you all enjoy these few days of sunshine and be sure to follow us and have your notifications on for our page on Facebook as there may just be another competition around the corner…..
