The girls are back from their sunny holiday in the Caribbean and boy did the beaches live up to expectations. We arrived as the sun was setting, stood with toes in the sand and our breath taken away by the view. The sea is so blue that you wouldn't believe it unless you saw the water with your own eyes or saw our photos on social media!
The people there are all incredibly friendly and boy is it hot..not just a little bit of heat but intense sun and humidity! So while everyone there has a glowing tan, we pale Brits stood out like a sore thumb but we wanted to change that. Anyway, after a week of sun, cocktails, and heatstroke we returned to grey old Britain and our lovely little shop.
Its July, say what? I know right, we complain about 2016 taking forever and suddenly half of 2017 has disappeared before our very eyes. Summer is in full swing and it did not seem that long ago that I was writing our last blog wishing for the sun and warmth to make an appearance - it'll be winter again before we know it! But before that, there's some good news! Not only is the new nursery, Once Upon a Time now open next door, we have had lots of people asking in the shop when the fruit picking will start and it has now begun, just in time to get your strawberries to eat whilst watching Wimbledon! More fruit is to follow over the coming months!
Our range of cards is growing by the minute here at the shop so there is something for all occasions. Similarly, part of the team is off to the Home and Gift Fair in Harrogate this weekend to get even more new stock for all you lovely people There will be brands you know and love as well as goodies from brand new designers and producers so the shop is always the placeto find that perfect gift! If you have anything you would like us to stock then please let us know through our website or Facebook page as this shop is not only for us but for you guys too!
Next up is our product of the month, carrying on with the summer vibe we have a brand that some of you may have heard of or seen whilst at the seaside on the Norfolk coast. Gone Crabbing takes after our own hearts as a family-run business set up in 2008 by Susie Mason and based in Norfolk - its basically on our doorstep! Inspired by the Great British seaside, Gone Crabbing brings you a range of quirky products featuring an array of seaside creatures including the Cromer Crab 'Colin', which they hope will bring memories of times spent on the sand and in the sea.
Gone Crabbing had been featured in a number of Norfolk magazines including EDP Norfolk, North Norfolk Living and Norfolk Suffolk. The brand has had products featured in the likes of Women & Home as well as Vogue so you can be sure these products do what they set out to do. The brand has an array of products from clothing to bath and home but our personal favourite is the tea towels and aprons, a perfect addition to any BBQ this summer. Dad will look fetching in our 'Old Trout' Apron as he puts his culinary skills to the test and the selection of bright tea towels will bring sunshine to the home and make the garden feel like a beach, plus the kids may even be willing to do the washing up! To have a look at these fabulous products head over to the website or pop into store to add some more humour to the BBQ!
Thank you so much for tuning in this month, make sure to check back next month for new stock previews and we help you get ready for Back to School - where has the summer gone?! We hope to see your faces in the shop soon, especially for Farmers Market this Saturday, so bring us some fresh raspberries if you are fruit picking ;)
